Shot a buck this afternoon at 4:50. He was following a hot doe through a creek bed, which is the first sign of rut I have seen all season. He left the doe and headed my way for some reason, and he ended up walking down the 4 wheeler trail 18 yards away from me. I hit him farther back than I care to admit, but it didn't take long for him to expire. He ran about 20 yards and bedded down in the open, so I knew he wasn't going to go far. He is my biggest buck so far, as I have only been seriously hunting for 3 years now. Tomorrow I will get more tasteful pictures, I just ran out of light tonight. Then I will cape him out to get mounted
Congrats, he is a nice looking buck. It's nice to see a not perfect shot workout for the better and it sounded like it resulted in a fast death. Enjoy them backstraps.
He looks A LOT like the shooter 9-pointer that I saw over this past weekend. Congrats on a great buck, and hopefully I'll be able to kill your bucks twin!
