Lol it’s sad that I felt the need to justify myself to you online. I’m actually kinda sick that I’m stooping this low. But your comment made me laugh so I decided to log in and reply. You don’t know me. I find it hilarious that you say on a forum that I wouldn’t look for a doe 4 days later. I don’t shoot does. I shoot big bucks. And whatever I shoot, I look for it until there is conclusive evidence that it is still alive or I find it. But hey thanks for the comedy at least.
Drink one less beer in the stand and you should be fine. But, if you find this becoming a pattern, you need to sell your vertical bow and get a good crossbow and start an archery season for them in Wisconsin. It's time.
Can you get a cross bow with a built in cup holder? Seems like a great option but I guess if you have a cup holder in the pick up one on the cross bow would be redundant.

Last year: (35 yards) (42 yards) The year before Last: (38 yards) (20 yards) These were all three from that same year. The one on the left was right at 40ish I believe. The year before that: (Just past 25 yards) (3 yards) (33ish yards) I can go further back if you would like. My point being, all of these were taken with a Mathews women’s bow that ranged from 40-50 pounds. I passed up some mega giants in the 40’s of yards. Why? Not because of distance. Because the shot wasn’t ethical. These deer as a whole picture died very quickly and ethically. I now shoot 64 pounds and I will kill a deer wherever I feel like it. For the record, I drink Busch Light and have never flung an arrow at a living target over 25 yards. In regards to the actual topic, i side more with Justin but can understand what Shane is eluding too. There is an exception to every rule, but for 95%+ of the bowhunting population 40+ yards is selfish and irresponsible. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Been following this thread. Young man (meant with respect) keep it up. Not going to dive too deep here, but you seem to be in a great spot in life that some may envy. You've got a lot of bow hunters beat with your kills and you still have your youth. Never stop learning and being humble. A lot of knowledge here that I still take heed to at 41 years old. But...i get where you're coming from. Have your own guidelines. Try em. Learn from em. Adjust, adapt and overcome. Maybe you'll come full circle or maybe you'll tout your own lessons as opinions down the line similar to Justin's. Who knows. Stick with what works since it's gotten results so far. Best of luck this year and years to come. My .02 -E Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
So you're saying you have no experience killing big bucks out past the 40 yard mark (to speak of, longest @ 42 yards*). One of the worst things in the world to experience is wounding a deer and not recovering it...until you experience that past 40 yards you just aren't going to "get it". So, go ahead and make your mistakes my young friend, lord knows the rest of us have. Many of Justin's have been caught on tape. I have no doubt that if we all live long enough...someday we'll see you realize you had a lot to learn when you were playing in this thread.
Why was this such a good way to sum it all up? This one wins it all for me. I appreciate it man. I do have a ton to learn, no doubt. However I just don’t get some of the previous lack of respect from one or two people earlier because of my mere difference of opinion, ignorant and youthful as it may be. Good luck to you this season. Hopefully it’s a good one man Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
