    David, the day you hit the hospital I swung by to visit a friend that passed away last year from pulmonary fibrosis...I sent up a little prayer asking her for a little help for you.

    I hope this all works out and you keep forging ahead.....

    What wonderful news David and very appropriate for a beautiful Easter Sunday. I am so happy for your news and hope the steroids do the job and that you will be back in the tree stand next fall. Since it is a warm spring day here I'll indulge in a favorite summer drink which is I call pine juice better known as a gin and tonic in your honor. Here is to you….. and a prayer for continued improvement and restoration to your previous level of activity.

    And one of the nice thing to come out of this is my Cavalry people. My old CO who retired a 3 Star General has rallied the troops. He has got my platoon leaders and XO committed to a mini reunion on my battlefield here in central NY. I think it will probably take place at theTurning Stone resort which is not far from my home. They want to get together just to reminisce and enjoy tales of old, war, honor and devotion to something greater than any of us as one. The General called me tonight to ask if I would concede to such a venture. Of course my answer was, General I would do anything you ask, you know that. Besides that, I'm honored with the suggestion... but it's not for me, it's for us, my boys and you. I'd love it and will fight to be there. We're going to do it. It's enough to make a grown man cry.
