I'm sittin' here sippin' on coffee at 4am looking for jobs.

I realize that each time I find a decent job I ask myself..."Now how far is that from woods?" Call me crazy, but it seems I'm revolving important decisions around bowhunting. Crazy or just a real passion for what I would rather do if we didn't have to work? Or do I have my priorities straight? Haha I would like to think the latter!

I just want the simple things in life I guess and bowhuntin', bein' out in the woods chasin' those whitetails, is a great way to spend time.:)

So what would you do if we didn't have the responsibilities of everyday life?
Please no spending time with family, that's a given! We would all do that!

Being in the woods is the only thing that keeps me sane!! Everytime I drive through a city I think to myself how do they do this everyday. All the people living so close and those drivesNo thanks, I would rather be poor than do that day in and day out..Walt

Totally agree with you Walt. I'm in a big city right now with all these high profile
snobs (not judging, i know from experience) and it's drivnin' me crazy with all the
smoke in mirrors. I'm just uncomfortable being here. Oh well. I can always
    day dream!

    Wishing you were hunting

You say you are looking for jobs. Well not knowing much about you or your finances or how you earn money, have you seriously thought about being an entrepreneur and starting a business revolving the outdoors someway. The time you have today will be gone tomorrow if we don't make the decisions we always dream about.

I am in the process of saving enough funds to create an amazing website for all you trail cam gurus out there. That way I can spend more time in the woods, go fishing when I want to, scouting when I need to, traveling when the weather is beautiful, living where I want, and so much more.

Hope I am not offending in any way, just reading and learning some ways how to act upon our desires instead of our obligations and I intend to succeed.

I couldn't agree with you more. I have had several ideas cross my mind to make it happen, but I never follow through with them due to lack of funds. But, eventually
    it will happen for me.

Just to let you know, I do some graphic design and if you need help with your website
    I could help you out.

I was farming a bit until we got out of the business after 25 yrs and this small town here in SE Va is no longer small...houses where I used to farm now dot the place..it's been 15 yrs since we farmed and so much has changed...hunting for me is the only way I can taste the country life anymore..

Being a successful entrepreneur is great b/c you get to work when you want... as long as you want to work all the time.

If I hit the lotto I would rotate between my ranch out west, my farm here in Ohio, and my house on Hilton Head Island so I could salt water fish when I wasn't hunting.

I actually went hunting in the city today. tried to get a feral hog before work in the Dall/Fort Worth metroplex, 5 minutes from my desk on property owned by my employer. I'm going to try again at lunchtime!

    That's awsome TXjourneyman.
I love to hunt in the city and change it up from time to time. To see people drive by just a few yards away and they not knowing your there...stealthy.

I think if I didn't have to work, I would drive around to cities everywhere and hunt those small plots.

I think I would go insane if it were not for my time outdoors. Whether it is Bowhunting, running Trail Cams, shooting my Bow, Shed hunting, or just searching for that new Hot Spot.

I'm approaching the same issues so no you're not crazy. I'm sure I'll be asking everyone's opinion in a few weeks/months about the same issue... professional vrs. personal life.

I would have a horse ranch with a ton of land (mostly woods for my hunting). I would travel the perimeter of the property everyday, tend to the horses, play with a large garden, and spend any time I could in the woods. It's nice to have dreams and goals.

So, what's more important to you guys...Professional or Personal?

I would rather be poor and just hunt and fish, but that's not going to
happen with the mess this economy is in. Oh well, I'm going to get
    there someday.
