1. When do you put your cams out in the spring, to monitor your deer heard? 2. How often do you check your cams thru out the summer? 3. What direction do you face your cams? I know not to set them facing the setting or rising sun, but I read an article just recently that the best is to face it North. 4. When do you start your mineral sight for the summer? 5. How often do you freshen them? Why am I asking these questions you may ask? I have always always checked my cams every weekend, I know, bad thing to do. This year, I am thinking about making my mineral sights in April, at that time I will put my cams out. I will check them after a week, just to make sure everything is ok. Then I plan on leaving them until Late June, early July. Then I will check them, and freshen my minerals. Then I will leave them until just before the season starts.
I used a camera once (on my own farm), and it was stolen within the week. I never got a single image from it. I haven't used one since. I start my mineral lick as soon as the snow is gone, and keep it up all summer, adding a new block as needed.
