I decided to finally order a light for my XA10. I want to film all my ice fishing adventures this season and most are at night after dark. Has anyone run into issues mounting it to the hot shoe and having the boom mic get in the way? I am not sure if this will be a problem or not till I get it so I didn't order any adapters for it just yet. Curious if others have experienced this though.

Jim I leave my handle set up on the Canon XA 10, its mounted to the Hot shoe, It powers everything on it. On top of the handle there is a cold shoe that I mount my cam light to, I just bought a cheap VID PRO LED light with a rechargeable battery, it last forever and does an excellent job!

That is where I am going to mount mine also. I was just wondering if the boom mic might be in the way of the camera. It should arrive on Tuesday so I will find out then!

I have one similar that I paid under $50 for. Runs on AA batteries. Good enough for no more than I use it. I just keep it in my camera bag and when the time comes that I need it it works just fine.
