So 2 days ago while shooting my bow I notice that my arrow rest(2 prong style) are now letting the arrow drop inbetween them. So i adjust them which in turn throws off my nocking point so I try to adjust and fix it. Now since I've changed both of those thing my peep sight is now off so now I must adjust that. So i go ahead tonight to try and adjust and set it to another position and now I cant get a proper hold. Im thinking that maybe my string has stretched which would seem plausible since I haven't change it in 2 seasons ( had it check at the end of last at a proshop and it was alright). and also it seems to be a little bit louder than it was before but Ive noticed no damage or signs of things hitting. so got any ideas

this also means im done shooting till I get my tax money back and can go to the nearby proshop. Murphy was right if things can go wrong they will go wrong:mad:

put a whisker biscuit on and never look back or down, again. it just so simple and works time and time again.

Will not hurt to get it checked again, if it is louder now.

Before you change everything, I suggest a couple of things. First of all, do you have the plastic caps on the prongs for your rest? If not, I would put some on there. If you do, then chances are that they're worn down and need to be replaced. I definitely wouldn't change the peed and nocking point if they were both correct to start with, rather, adjust the rest's vertical adjustment to the proper position.

get rid of the bow now and save ya self some heartache.you cant hunt with something that you dont trust or love. find you a bow you are happy with and get comfortable and you wont have no trouble you'll baby the bow and she'll perform like a new corvette trust me

Blah, Blah, Blah.....I abuse my stuff, get it wet, even a little mud in the cams when I lower it out of the tree, etc, and it LOVES me!!! :D

    StiveC,
What bow are you shooting??? Is the problem the BOW or the REST, or something else??? Could be a multitude of things. Don't get frustrated, or you're bound to shoot poorly and lose confidence. Take some time to go over everything, make sure everything is tight, drawstop, sight screws, stabilizer, cable slide bar, etc. If it's none of that stuff, then you could start looking at other factors, what type of rest is it??? There are a great many AWESOME rests out there, don't be afraid to do a little shopping and see what you may like a little better if it is indeed the rest.

Frustrating, but not a big deal best advise I could give to you is to take it to your local proshop and ask for some assistance if anyone can help it should be them, It sounds like to me that it could just be the rest. I would have that looked at and depending on what type you have maybe look into a new one. I suggest a vapor trail with the micro adjustments on it for windage and elevation. Stay away from a whisker biscuit unless you want a noisy rest that ruin vanes.

Funny, I've drawn on deer right below my stand and they didn't hear a thing. I think somebody who's got a "noisy" WB doesn't have it set up properly, or is using the wrong size. Maybe both! :D

Actually it depends on the arrow shaft that's going across the bristles. My Axis and A/C shafts are silent but Maximas were loud as Hell.

I have people say that some arrows make some noise on a w/b but i have not seen it yet at the local pro shop or on my own rig,, i shoot gold tips and a w/b for the last five seasons, with some big deer to boot under all under ten yards.
Just ordered a fuse w/b for the new z7.
the w/b works every time,it's a no brainer just draw and shoot. one less then to go wrong for me,in the past the old tm hunter cost me a few nice deer and buck fever is not going to jump that arrow off the w/b rest.

look yeah you can be hard on a bow we all have but they dont tend to last and perform that way long when those things happen its better to take care of your equipment and it will take care of you also its not exactly alot of people with a whole lot of money these days to afford the $600 bows so its best to take care of what you got

you cant hunt with a bow you dont trust and if you dog one out it will take it for a little while but not all the time then you'll be buying a new bow sound advice and i totally agree w/ you on what you said about trying other things out though its just sometimes you and a bow dont have a chemistry and its time to cut ya ties b4 you cut a hole in ya wallet trying to make it work for you

This bow has been great to me, I really like it and when I bought it I got it for a steal. But I finally had some one take a picture of me when I was holding full draw, the string has stretched which was causing my reference points to be off and that was one reason why I could figure out what was going on. it was that and I was just getting extremely inpatient. So i'm going to go the local proshop once I get my tax check and get a new string. thanks for all the advice and ideas though.

I might even look at a couple new bows at the proshop... maybe start a new bow fund.

No offense, but trying to decipher what you're saying, when it's all one giant sentence, gives me a migraine.;)

Im pretty sure he's talking about not using a bow you have no confidence in. And while it might work for a lil while, It probably won't work when you need it to (see murphys law). And that sometimes the hunter and the bow don't mesh and its time to find a new bow. I somtimes type like this so im pretty confident in my translation.

Frank: Mac can you understand charlie's map
Mac: No one understand the subtleties of charlie's retardation better than me, frank
