Been raining hard down here since yesterday. My son is down here to hunt and help his old man lay hardwood floors in the house. Due to the rain, we decided to dedicate today to getting most of the floor knocked out. Just went out with the dogs so they could empty and my rotrador (rott-lab mix) took off like a rocket! I looked and there had been what looked like a 2.5 year old 8 pointer in the corner of the yard about 80 yards out!!!! After chasing the buck off the property, Chantz (dog) returned. Took him in the garage and tried to explain to him the best I could that chasing deer is definitely a bad thing. I don't think he got it though because as I was telling him "NO chasing DEER!" He walked over to his bed and laid down. My son heard me calling the dog and saw the buck out the window. We have decided to lay floor until the rain lightens up and then the wife will have to wait for an afternoon (hopefully) for her floor!!!!
