Cool. Seems like all the buffalo kills I've seen with the big belted magnums require a few follow up shots. Nice Job !!

Peter Hathaway Capstick's book, Death in the Long Grass, has a section on Cape Buffalo. Of the Big Five, it might be the most dangerous. He tells of them taking enough lead to stop a Sherman tank. One buffalo was shot and the heart was pumping blood at, if I recall, 30-40 feet from the critter. I believe it was Teddy Roosevelt who commented they look at you like you owe them money. I highly recommend the book for anyone who hunts big game.
Bowhuntr64, that is quite an accomplishment with a bow, no less. You have an adventure to last two lifetimes.

For some reason I did not know about this forum until I saw it on my Tapatalk. I’m very active on some other ones but new to this one.

Welcome to the website and forum. I took time to watch the video as I have been under the weather and basically feeling like crap, doing nothing but watching baseball on TV. My complements on a successful hunt. Could you share the archery tackle you used? Link to the arrow build video? Very interested. Anything I would use to hunt buffs would have a very large diameter barrel and be on wheels, pulled by a Land Cruiser.
I have three Capstick books- Death In The Long Grass; Death In The Silent Places; Maneaters! Capstick led an interesting life. He started as a successful stock broker with Dean Witter company. Started a guide/booking service in Central or South America and later sold it to Winchester. He then went to Africa, living a dream. He has written several other books which I don't have...yet. Great reading on an evening when one is between hunting seasons or lousy weather or whatever. Suggestion- search and pull up his biography for all the details.
