I just finished a very good book on using topography, aerials and the terrain to your advantage. Highly recommended. I hope to put these newly learned tactics to use this fall. I've already started applying the knowledge and can't wait to get out scouting.

Those of you that are looking to learn more about how to look at aerials and topo maps to determine where travel corridors exist before you have set foot on a property this will be time well spent.

It also covers great ways of using the wind to your advantage, including thermals, downdrafts along hills, etc.

Yeah, I've got that book too. Give him a few more years and he'll be where Grizzly is knowledge-wise... ;)

Is this book mainly focused on whitetail?

    100% whitetail. 95% mature bucks.

I've had this book for years. Never have read it. But I am thinking that I will soon. People on here swear by topography maps so there must be something to it.

Understanding topography is a huge advantage. I've read that book and it started me off with a solid foundation in which to build my knowledge of topography and deer hunting.
