Just finished it up finally. It was my 07 bow kill, and was going to be my first victom at mounting a full shoulder mount but things got in the way :deer: I finally pulled it from the freezer a while back cleaned it up and decided to do something different than on a plaque. I have been learning alot of things from Taxidermy.net and one of those things was habitat, the wood part im no stranger to. SO this is what i came up with, I want honest opinions, is it over kill? I want to know, I can take it.
In my man cave: Here is the link to a tutorial i did on another sight if anyone wants to try and build one.

For those who ask the leaves are real, dried and diped in elmers white glue and water. Then locked down with hot glue. The greenery is fake and purchased at Michaels craft store. The sticks are real as well as the pine cones and bark. I used real pine needles to. any questions, Id be more than happy to answer!! And thanks a million guys, I didnt think it was going to go over that well!!

That looks GREAT! I don't think there is any overkill, that is perfect. Good Job. I may have to try something like that.

I really like it. I've always been a fan of natural elements as part of mounts.

Man that looks great. Did you make the frame yourself? What did you use for the dirt?

You should mount a mouse, chewing on the antler...

Thanks guys, i posted a tutorial on how to build the base over at http://www.taxidermy.net/forum/index.php/topic,141775.0.html check it out. The base is barnwood, and the dirt is 50-50 mix of elmers white glue and peat moss.

Looks just like walking up on a dead head

Did you leave the rack outside a while after shooting it? I see the antlers look bleached out.
