After being sick for about 3 weeks straight with a low grade fever, muscle aches/pulls, headache, extreme fatigue while still not being able to sleep at night, no appetite, just feeling like crap, and developing rashes all over my body. I received confirmation today that I have Lyme disease... I've been on doxycycline for a little over a week now after going to the Doctor twice, and he telling me straight up, he didn't know what was wrong with me.... but he gave me antibiotics "just in case" it was Lyme disease or a Bacterial infection of some sort...(He was going to send me to a dermatologist) They started working right away, and though I'm not myself yet, I feel worlds different than I did last week.

The nurse called today and said my tests shown that I did have lyme disease... Though I've heard the tests are inaccurate, with all of my symptoms, I feel pretty confident they got it right. And I seem to be improving quite well with the meds...

So just a heads up, I still have no idea when or where I got bit, and Lyme isn't very common in this area, but it is getting that way as I've heard of a couple of similar stories here lately.

I'll be investing in some spray for when I go out, with the warm winter, "they" say they're going to be bad this year. So check yourself... It hasn't been fun.

Mine was caught in time as I went in as soon as I noticed the bullseye on my arm so no issues here.

Sorry to hear that, Aaron. Hope you recover fully.

If you haven't bought anything yet...go here and stock up. This is Permanone and you won't have to worry about ticks if you treat your clothes in this. This is the cheapest place I've found. The AEP land I hunt is full of seed ticks. I've gotten hundreds on me before. They literally die and fall right off of my clothes while using this stuff.

Last tick on me was about 3 years ago the little sucker was stuck on my right side every now and thing a small hard bump will appear and go away leaving me with sharp pains. Lasting minutes at a time.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I never found a bite sight either. Get checked. It can get real serious. Blotchy stuff cam rashes came after the extreme headaches and sweating.

Aaron, I've had some (few and far between) symptoms. I know guys that get em more often though. There's a ton of information out there on it, just not definitive one way or the other.

glad to hear you are recovering, those ticks are some bad little critters, we have our share of them here. I will not go in the woods this time of year without my deep woods off.

The key is checking for them when you return. They need to be on you for 24-48 hours to do damage. Check everywhere, every time.
