You sparked my creative side chopayne! I have a great idea to really stand out for an open position. Nothing too over the top but it will definitely help me stand out from the other applicants. thanks again

This is going to sound like I'm being a complete a hole and I might be but I hire people as needed so I have to chime in again. You are looking for a marketing job and you have a degree in marketing but you don't know how to market the thing you know best. Maybe who should try to figure out how to market yourself creatively to show a potential employer you know how to market. Just my opinion.

    Food for thought...
Make a DVD and send that vs. sending a paper Resume. You'll REALLY standout!
Join LinkedIn and market yourself that way.

As I went to bed last night I was thinking the same thing. Marketing Degree wanting a Marketing Job, but can't market oneself, that doesn't send a good message. Not trying to talk condescending here, but more in third person.

And if you get a job 45-60 minutes away, always weigh the costs, if you're going to make the same or less when factoring in car wear and tear and gas combined with increased time away from life it may not be worth it. Also remember, you're young, you may have to pay your dues in places people don't want to be, you may love the place you're in right now but it may be best to move during your young years and get some experience then move back.
