The past few nights, I've been watching alot of shows about the 50th anniversary of JFK's assination. It happened 12 years before I was born, so I obviously wasn't around to watch the events taking place. But I must say, the shows have been entertaining, if not entirely truthful. Every show has its own version of what happened, the Warren Commision reports and the people involved. I've read books on this dating back to when I was in high school, and honestly, I still don't know exactly what to believe. With most of the people involved with the reporting, witnesses, etc now deceased, I'm not sure we will ever know then entire story.
I remember that day and getting sent home from school because of it. I remember my mom standing at the ironing board in front of the television sobbing. The conspiracy theories have abounded mainly based on Jack Ruby killing Oswald at the police station. Many have said he did so on the mafia's orders (Bobby was actively prosecuting them) to keep Oswald quiet. Oswald had delusions of grandeur and had failed as a Marine, then as a communist in Russia and was bound to make a name for himself. He figured he would be a hero among the communists in America and they would take care of his wife after he assassinated Kennedy. Jack Ruby had similar delusions and thought he'd be considered a hero if he killed the President's assassin. I think we already know everything to know in that Oswald acted alone and so did Ruby. But that doesn't sell books and movies.
Yeah, I've seen that clip alot. One of the shows said he was accidentally shot in the back of the head by his own agents. Hard to watch that video and say that shot came from the back.
That video just always throws me off. You can clearly see the exit explosion from the bullet, but to see his head/body violently flop backwards still makes me wonder.
