If you purchase an annual now it won't expire till March 31st 2010. They changed it a few years ago that if you purchase it after January 1st it is good till the next year. Glad to see you are coming Mechdoc! Whoelse is coming that hasn't said so yet? Justin- Duke you guys still coming?
Maybe in Illinois but not Wisconsin. The new license for Wisconsin go on sale March 4th, 2009 Sorry Ferg one thing I due keep on is regs the way Wisconsin sometimes make them so dang confusing. So honestly they should buy the 4 day if non resident like mechdoc stated. Now a resident for $20 still should get a annual. From the Wisconsin DNR website: All annual licenses are valid from date of purchase through March 31, 2009
Wow, they must have gone back to the old system. It wasn't that way a few years back when I bought a license in February. Thanks for correcting me. I didn't know of the change.
Yeah bro as Far as I know its always been like this and maybe where you bought it they miss informed you. Like any state no way they letting that money get away especially from Flat Landers, lol
Well regardless anyone that want's to fish be sure to pick up a license. If anyone is heading up and needs bait let me know where you are coming from and I can get you directions to a few different bait stores.
ahhh yes bait and I will keep a eye on Citgo Thursday and Friday and buy a bunch at the cheap prices they have. T
I stopped in at the Citgo tonight and they have a good amount of minnows. They now have waxies but you have to ask for them. They are in the back fridge.
Ferg, just out of curiosity, but what are the primary fish there? Is is primarily a game fish lake, northerns? or is there a good pop. of panfish?
I am mainly going to be tip-up fishing for walleye and northern. Just plan to use large roaches hooked on treble hooks. But the lake also has pan fish. The panfish don't get big but they are plentyful if you can find them. I usually use smaller size(12) jigs tipped with waxies for the gills and crappie. I might do some pan fishing during the derby but not much.
If anyone has 2-way radio's you can bring them also. The weight in station uses them to communicate and it makes it easier for all of us to communicate if anyone heads back to the house or cars. I have 2 extra radio's that someone can use.
The lake was filled with trucks and suburbans today so anyone that is willing to park or drive on the ice is encouraged since parking will be so tight.
Just checked the weather and it is going to be a bit cold out saturday. If anyone is close enough and wants to come by and help set up stuff friday night and get stuff ready you are most welcomed. I have room for a few to stay over Friday night also if you would like.
