The time is drawing near. I hope everyone is finding all the warm clothes they have and getting ready for a great time.

My house is the red house(3rd from end) at the end of the dead end street. When you arrive you will notice NO Parking signs. Please disregard them. During the derby the entire neighborhood around the lake is open to parking.

    When:
Derby is on the 24th. Everyone is welcome to arrive as early as you would like and welcome to stay as long as you would like. I usually hit the ice around 5am and we stay out till shortly after dark. Once we are done fishing most head over to the neighborhood association building. They have a bar, dj, dancing, gambling and prizes! Definetly a great time and worth staying for.

    How Much:
The cost to come out and party with us and fish is nothing. Because this is a fund raiser for the association in order to turn in any fish for prizes you have to have 5 tickets @ $1 each. I have plenty of these for everyone and would apprecate everyone getting a few eitherway. Not only does this let you register fish but enters you in some prize drawings also. The money goes to maintaining the lake by stocking fish, vegitation control and maintaining the community beaches and parks.

    Food/Booze:
This is a subject that I would like for us all to discuss on the forum. I will provide a bbq grill for everyone to use. We can make this just a bring your own or we can plan stuff out and all share. I don't care either way. Just would like group decision. Same goes for beer! I am more then willing to pick up several kegs as needed but can't afford this year to eat a monster bill. I have done it way to many times in the past. I will have a large pot of hot chocolate for everyone to share since my daughters and Frogslayer will be out on the ice with us.

SO LETS DISCUSS-- Please share your thoughts!

Who can attend:This event is open to everyone. I know many of you have been asking if you can bring others. I most certainly encourage it. The more the marrier! Bring the kids if you would like also! They will have a blast!

    What we will have/be doing:
We usually start the bonfire nice and early. A great place to stand and warm up, chat sports and consume alchohol! We will also have baggo, washers and most likely set up a bowling alley. Fishing is encouraged. Just remember this is Wisconsin and license must be presented when DNR arrives. And they always do!!!!!

    What to bring:
    Warm Clothes
Fishing gear if you would like
    Warm Clothes
    Friends
    Warm Clothes
    Camera if you want
    Warm Clothes
Folding Chair if you want to sit
Money if you want to gamble at the association afterwards(strongly suggest!)
Pillow/Sleeping bag if you plan to stay, or think you may pass out and have to stay!
and anything else you would like.

If you are interested in spending the night please let me know. I certainly have room for several people. Just need to know ahead of time.

I believe that covers everything. Please post here if I have forgotten anything. Be sure to pass this information onto anyone who has not seen the post yet and encourage everyone to attend. Now lets all figure out food and drinks!

Thanks for the offer Peak. I probably will. I would like to get the table, grill and canopy tent out the night before.

    Anyone else have food/drink ideas?

I am waiting to hear if I got a new gig at work and if so when I start. The new gig will have me working Saturday instead of Sunday so I'll post as soon as I hear they don't want me or want me;)

That would suck if you have to miss it but if it's a better gig then good luck.

Well not much discussion yet about food and drinks.

    Some ideas I have had:

I can pick up a few kegs of beer and cups for everyone. A few doller per person should cover it. Or everyone can bring whatever they want.

Since I will have the grill on the ice for everyone we can most certainly go with Peaks idea and everyone bring something and everyone shares or we can each bring our own food. I like the idea of sharing but I don't care eitherway.

Then if anyone would like something different regarding food or booze feel free to bring anythign else.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

I did that to a whole bunch of people once too. I threw a party at my parent's house when they were out of town.
The police went down the block writing parking tickets.
I laughed. They were all realllllly mad.

Well I am sure that some people will be worried but they don't need to. Not to mention that hte parking at the end of my street has been used for 20 years since they put up the signs and never has a ticket been issued. However for the derby they have allow parking on streets or they wouldn't get any people to show up. The entire subdivision is usually lined with cars. And most of the cops don't drive around anyways. Most are drinking and hanging out at he association all day and night!

BYOB+F works fine for me if that is what everyone wants to do.

SevenMag pm'd me saying that he will probably swing by late for a few drinks and to meet everyone. Sounds like Camo500efi is working till 5 so not sure yet if he will make it over afterwards or not yet.

Ferg, I think that's a real good idea. We can just potluck it. Everyone bring a little something to eat. BYOB is a good & cheaper idea. Maybe I'll bring some venison stew or chili. Bout how many showing up? Do we need to bring bowls/spoons etc? Let me know if you need anything. Looking foward to see a bunch of bh.com'ers.

I am really hoping that we can get some conversation going about what everyone wants to do. The potluck idea is great In da Kitchen! I like that idea but does everyone else want to do that? And if so what is everyone planning on bringing? Also what does everyone want to do for beer/drinks?

    SPEAK UP!

I think bring your own choice of drink works best ferg. If we run out to soon it won't be good and honestly I can
see that happening with a kegger. You guys start pretty bright and early. Typing of that my boys have a BB game
at 08:00 so after that I will be there.

I agree w/Peak rut. BYOB, and a potluck dish. We can put together whatever is brought. A few pots of chili, some chips, stew, whatever, good to go. Just want to make sure how many and is everyone bringing something?
