    Jerky Time

The doe is in the freezer. My wife bought the meat slicer last weekend and is making the marinade tomorrow. Just got to slice the venison and get it marinated for a couple of days and it's time to fire up the smoker!

After hunting, making the jerky is the best part of the whole experience!

Gonna have to send PT some of this batch if he ever sends me his address.:D

I was planning on making some this year also. Looking forward to hit. Now if I can just put a deer on the ground I will be all set!

Wife picked up the Waring Pro from Lowes. 7 1/2 blade and made out of stainless. Cost was "about $100" (according to her).

Is your recipe home made or store bought I have been tossing around the idea of making a batch this year, but not sure if its worth the time or not.

It's my wife's family recipe for a beef dish that works great for jerky. We made this jerky 2 years ago and everyone who tried some raved about it. Many wanted the recipe but my wife is extremely sensitive about who it's given to.

When you can come up with a great recipe, it's hard for her to give it out. It's like her eggrolls, people rave about them, but she won't show anyone how she makes them (ego thing I guess).
