    A post on FB earlier:

"If Jeremy Lin dunken on Lebron in a yankees cap, and then celebrated by Tebowing in front of Brett Farve, would ESPN explode?"

You mean like Brett. LOL Let's put it this way. Right now the guy is playing better and more consistant than all the "Super" heros of basketball. It's a note worthy story. He's kicking their butts. Sure it can end, but think of it... his pay check is about the size of my social security and VA disability checks combine. Hell, most of the people he's making look foolish make that much for every basket.

He has played one great player in Kobe the rest of the teams they have been beating are terrible. The combined record of the teams they beat is 68-106.

But the teams they've been beating were whipping up on them before Lin. He's given the team spirit, hope and confidence. So shoot him... you'd rather they shoot themselves I guess.

WOW! I said the guy is playing great, not that you should shoot him. Be realistic, I am saying he has done this for a couple of games. It be nice if he played for a season or 2 before we treat him like a super star.

I agree to a point.... except he's done it for 6 straight games. LOL The best have been trying to slow him down and they've failed to this point.

P.S. Game 7 is going on right now. It's first half. He has 10 points, 13 assist and 5 rebounds. Sounds like he's slipping. LOL

LOL, come one man! You do realize if he were to sustain a 27 and 9 average he'd be doing something that only like 2 other players EVER have done? Not that he will, but to say those numbers aren't even close to all time record stats? hahahah

    Dude is a baller.

But I don't see how Tebow having already been an accomplished player at lower levels makes his story any less impressive?

ESPN over does everything, always has and always will.

Thanks wahoohunter you just proved my point. Lets make him an all star and put him into the Hall of Fame right now. You are comparing what he has done in 6 games to what others have done for a season. I bet you are right and only Linn and 2 others have ever done that over a 6 game period .

The true story will be when Mello is back. Will he be able to sustain some of the same numbers or is Mello going to take over? Guess time will tell. l

You said his stats were -- "Not even close to all time record stats"

His (brief) stats absolutely are, his longevity is, of course, not.

I like the story. Good for him I say!! It's like a deer hunter that's on a dry spell for hunting and then all of a sudden he shoots great bucks 3 out of the next 4 years. Of course he's going to get some praise from people. No different with Lin. How good were the Knicks when Melo and Amaure were In his place and he was sitting? He's making them look pretty bad and rightfully so. Go Lin!!

Oscar Robertson averaged a triple double for an entire SEASON! He averaged over 30 points per game while still getting over 10 rebounds and assists. So no 26.8 points 8.5 assists and 3.8 rebounds over 6 games is not even close to record stats. Unless we are letting you pick and choose what stats we are using here.

you can't really compare him to anyone of ALL-STAR caliber because it's basically his rookie season...he is playing better than his class right now, that's all that matters....once melo comes back, i don't expect his points to go any higher...but his overall role in assists and putting the rock into the open guy will go up big time...i'm not even a NY fan, but i took notice that he's changed the team big time by including everyone....something they were lacking when melo was playing....missing puzzle to the team i guess...a little improvement on ball security and he'll be just as good as anyone out there....
