I give Jeremy Lin another week of this performance before the hype goes to his head and he returns to the bench player he was

SERIOUSLY!!! The guy has 5 starts and has played well, but it is 5 starts. I am sick about hearing how great these players are when they havent done anything for an extended period of time.

Up to 6 straight games now with last nights buzzer beater. Stories about good guys and underdogs will always become headlines. This kid is playing great and I'd be riding that wave all the way in.

I am not saying he isnt playing great, but he is all over espn and every sports talk show wont stop talking about him. Cant a guy do something good for more than a few games before that is all we have to hear about.

Linsanity has found its way to BHC. The guy is just a Linner, there's no way around it. Linning!

i totally agree tom. Now all this hype about 1 guy doing great for a few games. No one is talking about the Red Wings making history last night, 21 consecutive home wins. Now that is news!

Hey Jeremy Lin is clearly a better passer than Tebow.

Tebow also was a first round pick, heisman trophy winner, nc winner. I fail to see how they compare other than ESPN going nutty over both of them.

How many times in sports have we seen a guy start performing at a high level then slowly decline back to what he was! I think he's a great athlete and inspires many average players to be great, but i don't know if he can keep it up!?

cinderella story for sure.....sleeping on his bro's couch, barely cut, off the bench, and producing 5-game record stats that no one ever produced (we're talking about some of the best that ever played)...it's actually quite amazing to me, let alone he's asian...i said asian because it's non-existant/stereotypical in NBA....reminds me of Tiger when he first started winning and he was a minority...it's fresh air for a change, that's all...it goes to show that hard work does pay off sometimes...make the most out of your opportunity i guess...props to him for giving NY fans an exciting season to come!

and for the record: MJ IS STILL DA BEST!!! AND GO DROSE AND BULLS!!!:rock:

It's a very cool story and I think he's deserving of much of the media coverage. Does ESPN over do it? Well, yeah, but what does ESPN NOT over do? Plus we watch it, so really who is to blame?

He was just days away from being cut, has won 6 straight games for the Knicks, (who were struggling terribly) has given the NBA a fresh of breath air, all while doing it in the basketball capital of the world, being open about his Christian faith, and being an awkward Asian kid. Of course, it's a good story!

I would like to see him play against some better competition though. And no, the Lakers don't count. LA is a good team, but they haven't been able to defend point guards for years. I'd like to see how he does against Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Derrick Rose, the Heat, etc.

I'd be happy to have been able do what he does if I was the only person on the court. Who knows if he will be "all that" for an extended season but you just don't accomplish what he has without some talent.

26.8 points per game, 8.5 assists per game, and 3.8 rebounds per game. Not even close to all time record stats. Oscar Robertson averaged over 30 points a game the year he averaged a triple double for the entire SEASON!

i believe he beat out SHAQ for best first 5-game start by 10pts or something....besides, i don't think anybody is comparing him to all-time greatest players in the past; and it doesn't matter because MJ is still the greatest regardless of stats! haha....i'm just saying that kid deserves some credit...not everday you see an ivy player come into nba making a statement....yes, still early but plenty of years left to become better...
