What's your take? Did he quit or really couldn't go? Or somehwere in between? It did seem a little odd to see him get pulled. Seemed like a quick hook to me. Then to see him riding the bike on the sidelines and a look of not at all interested in the game on his face. Just seemed a little strange. I think a gimpy Cutler would've been better than a 3rd stringer (who actually was kind of impressive though). Nobody really knows, and we won't until the results of the MRI. But wouldn't you think most QB's would have to be taken off on a cart to leave a game like that?

Even before reading the link Jeff posted up I couldn't see Cutler quiting on his team. To me he's a competitor as he should be.

Cutler needs to improve his demeanor before he can become the leader the Bears need. The body language speaks volumes and rubs off on the the team in the wrong way IMO.

now that our season is over i can speak a "bit" more freely but still in my best interest i have to remember who signs my check...

when one of our guys gets attacked, we feel like all of us are getting attacked. to me that is the deff of a family. love and care for one another no matter what. i snap (under center and long snap) to the guy every day of every practice since he's been here and i can say that there is no quit in him. he tried to go, and thats all i could ask. of any player

    my 2 cents:
i think most of you who have read my stance on pretty much everything written on here is how much i love sports and respect each individual's right to bash, hate, love... hell even worship teams/players/sports. and i'll never stand by my word as much as i do now. love the guys you like, hate the guys you dont! its your right to do as you please and thats what makes sports great! but our mark as men/women will always be drawn in our humility when we win and respect when we lose.

so with that being said....to all the bears fans i appoligize for an abrupt end to the season, and to all football fans i hope we honored those who played before us and to those who watched. great game coming up with the best this league has to offer!

I like him a little more, now. Honestly....what does he owe reporters? Do you think he's ever gonna get a fair shake with them? Is talking game strategies with people who've most likely never played the game beneath him? If they're questioning his play.......yes.

FTR....I never questioned Barry Bonds for not talking to the press, either. If Lance Armstrong EVER gives another general interview....I'll think he's lost his marbles.

as always, thanks for your insight on this isaiah!

even though I'm a packer fan I respect your opinion on things like this and I certainly wish the best for Jay as I'm suffering thru an MCL/ACL injury at the moment... you can walk perfect fine with this injury, but changing directions or stresses in particular directions will bring me to the ground like a sack of potatoes...

I think Kevin Butler said it best on WLS (local radio) this morning - Chicago Bears fans, deep down, WANT to like Jay Cutler. They really do. As one of those fans, I WANT to like Jay Cutler. I WANT to believe in his abilities both physically and as a leader of the team. However, he just doesn't do anything publically to show that's what he wants too. HIs demeanor on the sidelines, some of his remarks and interviews just rubs people the wrong way, which compounds issues like this when he gets hurt.

If Chicago fans liked him as a person this wouldn't even be a discussion. Its times like these when not caring what people think about you just makes matters worse.

That said, I did find it a bit disheartening the he wasn't (or didn't appear to be) trying to help coach his replacements, cheer on his team, or even watch the game after he got hurt. IMO just another couple things he could've done to help alleviate the public's current dislike for him.

justin, you could not be more correct. the more fans feel that they "have" of you or "know you" the easier it is when hard times fall. at the end of the day it the player's choice whether he wants to put himself out there, just like us and who we cheer for. you'll always have fan fav's and guys the fans dont care for. just more difficult situation when its a high profile position like qb.

Well put Isaiah, I don't think very many guys at that level that would choose to sit and I doubt Cutler is the exception. The Bears had a great season, Congrats!

I tore my MCL my fourth year in college on a chop block. I could not play the remainder of the game. Two weeks later I tried to play by playing one play. It felt like my knee was going to rip off.

Some of you guys on here wouldn't even go to work the day after you tore your MCL even though you sit in chairs and type on computers. I surely know you wouldn't line up behind center and sling footballs while being pursued by monsters.

I tore both my ACLs and MCLs during a HS basketball game and not only continued to play, but finished the game with 52 points, 23 rebounds, 14 block shots, 11 steals, and 10 assists for a rare quintuple double.
