We did a little fishing on our family trip to Jamaica. The men went fishing (father, uncle, two cousins and myself) and the women went swimming with the dolphins. Anyway we caught a couple dolphin fish and a blue marlin. I caught one dolphin and I was the last leg on catching the marlin. It took all 5 of of 45 minutes to get him boated. It was one of my better offshore fishing trips

Me and my dolphin fish (maui-maui)

Sounds like a fun trip for all. I couldn't see the photo's (but maybe it's because I'm on my computer at work).

    Nice pics!

I've only done the deep sea once and it's been 20 years (I was a kiddo)...need to get back soon - what a great way to spend a day!

It's a shame that I've lived so close to the Gulf my entire life and I have never been fishing deep offshore. I've fished the marshes/coastline plenty, but never offshore.

We ate the dolphin that night, it was awesome

I owe it all to my grandfather. He built a few offshore boats (very talented man) and we fished out of South Padre Island at least a couple times a year. My grandparents moved back up here about three years ago so I haven't gotten to go near as much. I try and at least go once a year though. I think you'd like it Hook, if you've got the sea legs (and stomach) for it, which has always been a problem for me

Nice catch. I guess I am lucky that I get to do that for my job, I love it!
