Man, I'm jacked to get up to Canada in 2 weeks for a black bear hunt. Got some new camo. Bow is tuned and shooting well. Got a new go pro on the way. Harness is ready. Any last minute tips from experienced bear hunters? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Have fun, dont rush the shot. Most the time the bears know you are there, its just a matter of how bad they want the bait! Just like with deer, if the shot is marginal, don't push it. Back out & give time. Not sure if you are planning to video but people LOVE seeing & sharing in what you experienced! What province you headed to? I was in Ontario for the bear opener August 15. Nice, good luck! Just got back from a bear hunt in NH just south of the Canada border, unfortunately didn't fill a tag, but its a blast and always fun! Enjoy and best of luck!
Good luck. I'm also going bear hunting in 2 weeks. Headed to the southern part of WV for the early rifle bear season. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
If the bear have been baited for a while it's best to have another person bring it out and then they go back to camp cuz the bear know when to get the bait and they feel safe than cuz they think they left but in reality one person did but ur there to sling arrows. Also my girlfriends dad found that they really like it when u dump the bait where it's easy access but when u do this you have to place the bait where u can get a shot off cuz the bear might lay down while eating it and they might not lay broadside. Take ur chances! Good luck! Btw he and his wife killed one each Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good luck! I've been hunting over bait the last two weeks here in Maine. Have seen 6 in 4 different sits but nothing big enough yet. No different then shooting a deer, just be patient and wait for the right shot!
