They have unlimited does in much of IL, it's not really a BIG deal...... Sorry to hear you lost one to the songdogs.....You made the right decision, yet even then sometimes things don't turn out the way we hope....
you see a yote by your stand you let them know what they got coming haha sorry to hear about the lost deer
If I see a yote while I'm in the stand ill givem q little lethal injection. However legally I guess you should tag her. But to me I don't see a reason to tag it unless you are going to eat it. Since I did not take even the back meat I did not taf her. Plus we got a lot of corn eaters aroind here so I don't think to many people woukd be upset with my decision
" She was 45 yrds from my stand and an easy broadside shot" ???????? 45 yards is only an easy shot if you have a Gun in your hands. Hate to rain on your parade, but this is a case of poor shot choice in my opinion. Dispite advertisers claims of the speed of their bows, no arrow shot weapon can overcome the reaction time of a Whitetail Deer. At 20 yards, dead Deer. At 40 some yards, the Deer can react, and move enough to cause a bad hit. Bow hunting is a "close range sport" If you want to shoot Deer at 40-50 yds. shoot a Gun.
1. I can think of LOTS worse stuff a bowhunter can do. 2. If it's truly a liver shot... she didn't go far. Make sure you check any water sources that are near by. Good Luck.
look into spots that you wouldn't think a deer could crawl into. i had one go into a brush pile once.
