well as the title says Ive shot a doe tonight at 6:20 and well I think it was a Liver shot......... I shoot with Lumenocks and I saw it enter but never exit. She ran about 60 yrds stopped and stumbled then jumped the fence into the timber. I Climbed down after 30 mintues and well I COULDNT FIND MY ARROW OR BLOOD. I know this sounds like the other post and probably doesnt sound true but it is. I thought the shot was about 4 inches back from where I wanted it. She was 45 yrds from my stand and an easy broadside shot. I just flenched a little of dropped the bow. Well I looked for 2 hrs for arrow and blood found niether and also my lumenock should of stayed on but I could not see it there for I believe that it is stuck in her cavity. Im headed out tomorrow at 7:30 to see if I have any better luck finding signs.... I love night sits but for man it makes it hard to trackem

go to the place u saw her stumble.
thats yor starting point. mark it with some tissue, then go to the place u last saw the deer.
make aline in your head of the path of travel that would make the most sense, usually deer follow that. you can find her...

I actually got a ziplock bag that I keep my treats in marking where I thought I shot her and ive got a nice tree with red leaves where I saw her last but like I said no blood that I could find so I am going tomorrow thinking about doing a circle pattern or a half circle till I find something.

did she run back the way she came? or did she take a different exit. U seem like a smart hunter, so i am guessing u know where food and beds are, as well as thier emergency runs. check all three. my last liver hit deer died within 200 yards, but there was very little blood for the first 120. the first drop was a Pin drop i mean litterally the size of a matchead.
before u start making circles, since you know her genereal direction of travel i would go with that. Make circles too soon, get frustrated, miss something important :)
    good luck!

She ran where she came in from but when I went to go find my arrow about half hour later I heard a doe snort at me I hope it wasnt her. I really dont want to trudge into the bedding unless I half to.

i would say that if u have a wounded deer, have to is the best way to describe it. take ur time, be slow, u should be fine. i have a hard time believing with the way you described the hit that she would be alive 30 min later. unless it was further back than u thought.
you will find her. just be patient

if she stumbled within sight chances are she didn't go far. remeber to look up while searching, head to the ground for a few steps...stop....look over the entire area you see...walk a few..head back up, you'll find her.

Found her this mourning around 7:50. However she was in no shape to be eaten. I didnt know that Yotes would get her so fast. In the last 7 yrs Ive never lost one do to yotes and I have left them lay over night before. It looked like they had eaten half of her butt off and makes me think she was alive and they took her down. I didnt find blood till after id say 80 yrds after impact and then I had the red carpet treatment to where she was laying in some crp. I cut her open to see if i could get the back meat but after giving it a look I really didnt want to chance it. I ended up One lunging her and high shot

I'm sorry to hear about your luck, but glad you found her to at least put your mind somewhat at ease.

I have a question for everyone though. If you do kill an animal and, as in this situation, the animal is not consumable, do you think you still should use a tag on it? Kind of a legal vs ethical question I guess. I definitely don't know the answer. Would like to hear some opinions though. If someone thinks its worthy, feel free to post a new thread as I certainly don't want to hijack jakeratt's thread. Just seems whenever I make a thread no one reads it. ;)

I think it's probably the law that you tag it.
