A Peacock. They sell them down the street from my golf course. I think it would be neat to have a couple walking around to greet the customers at the clubhouse. Only problem I see is I would have to add to the closing duties for clubhouse staff to put the peacocks in their cage at night. Hmmmmm

Just some advice. They are Loud when they get going. That being said they are cool animals to have on a property.

Don't think peacocks are a good idea for a golf course. 1. Too loud. 2. Will constatly get in the way. 3. Are as stubborn as a mule.

I bet a lot of golfers would complain they are screaming during their back stroke

They can be extremely obnoxious. Loud is an understatement. Really cool to look at though. I have an idea they would end up on the wrong end of a 9 iron.

They're beautiful, loud and hard-headed. On the upside.... you don't have to lock them up, they'll roost someplace on their own.

I like to have a target other than the green.

    This !!!!! ^^^^^

You would have more golfers complaining then wanting to see them.

Critters during the night won't get to them? Will they stay around or wander the neighborhood. The ones down the street when not locked up act like pets. What stops them from just leaving?

Like a chicken, they know where home is ... also like a chicken, they are susceptible to predators .... I would recommend putting them in a critter proof area at night ....

My neighbor got one and when they were puttin him in the pen he put up a fight and got loose. Took us 4 months to finally catch him. Seen him almost every day but couldnt get em caught. Im sure once he gets used to being there, he wont try to run away. But, I would pen em up forsure at first. They are gorgeous and awesome to have around, and they will stick around after they are used to the steady food supply and safety.

I can about imagine some drunken golfer will see him as a target while teeing off. Although that could be a course promotion - take out the peacock from 200 yards and win a free 9 holes...:)

Honestly.... I thought it was a turkey. Simple solution... just teach your wife how to scream and yell.... like peacocks do. It's got to be a high pitched scream.
