Just like the title says. I was one that bought new tree stands and bows every year. My wife and I ended up having lots of credit card debt. I have finally learned to buy something of quality and take care of it. I have four Lone Wolf tree stands, a Treewalker tree stand, and a Hoyt and Parker bow. I will take care of these and use them for a while. My wife and I just payed off our debt and we now only owe our house and one car. We payed off $52,000 worth of debt last week at 31% interest. We are saving ourselves $2,000 a month. We are a cash only family. I am not saying I will not buy anymore stands bows etc, but I will pay cash and keep them a while. Anyway it's hell getting old and paying off your debt from when you were young and dumb. Sorry so long. I'm sitting in the woods now and it's nice to sit here and enjoy nature knowing my finances are in order and I am in control again and not visa!!! Hope everyone has a great season.
Congrats to you! That's a big burden off your shoulders! You have some nice equipment there that will last a great long while. Best of luck in the woods! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nothing can stress you out like debt, it can ruin a life, a marriage, and a hunt. Congrats and happy hunting.
Congratulations to you! I've been whittling down my own debt, never did have much credit card debt but I'm trying to get my house paid off,get the truck paid off etc. My goal is to not have to bust my *** as hard and still get by. I'm at a point right now that I can pay off a lot of my debt but I'll have to pay a lot of taxes or buy something big work related for the tax deduction and not pay as much taxes but still have all my debt.
Congrats. We've been there done that. Most of our debt was came from our college years and a couple after it. We had gone a few years without adding any additional debt, and made almost no strides in actually getting it payed down. We finally got them payed off, and we will never carry a balance on a credit card again.
Good deal man...credit cards can be dangerous if used improperly but are great for your credit if you are smart and pay them off monthly Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Congrats, we've all made financial mistakes and I know first hand how great it feels to be free of them Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
It's a good place to be. Keeping up with the Jones is a dead end street. Live with in your means and be thankful for what you have.
Keeping up with the Jones is a dead end street. I like that saying, it reminds me of a family I know. They live in a $1.5 million house, and each drive a Mercedes. All bank owned of course. I went to their house to pick up my daughter from a play date, they have no furniture except for a cheap table and 4 chairs, and mattresses on the floor. The girls clothes are old and don't fit. She wears the same thing over and over. She complains to my daughter about a lack of decent food. The husband works 16 hours a day, for what? To be a showoff? Not a life I want to live!
