The story goes I started having a little tightness in the chest and a cough starting last Sunday. Then on Tuesday I developed a fever and weakness. But still feel OK and kept working through the week. I was traveling for work anyway so it wasn't exactly convenient to find a doc anyway. I thought I just had a virus due to how decent I felt. I felt bad, but not terrible.

Well yesterday during the day at work (home office) I started to blackout while walking in the hallway and almost fell down. Basically on the verge of passing out.

So I go to the doc and it turns out my left lung is basically engulfed in pneumonia. The doc could not believe that my oxygen levels are as high as they are. Otherwise I'd be in the hospital right now. So I'm basically working off one lung.

I'm now on 500mg of Levaquin which is the same antibiotic they use to treat anthrax. If it's not better by Monday they still might have to admit me for an IV antibiotic.

I didn't think there was anyway I was in this bad of shape. Wish me the best. :)

I wish you the best. I have had pneumonia at least 6 times. I seem very prone to it. I have also had a collapsed lung twice. Trust me when I say it's not a good thing.

It seems that once you get pneumonia, your likelihood of getting it again is quite high. The real problem is that every time you get it your lungs are slightly scarred.

Now I have to take medication every day or I am constantly short of breath.

So please don't overdue it Take it as easy as you can and get lots of rest. I sure don't want anyone to put up with the issues I have had.

Thanks guys for the wishes. I'm really taking it easy which is hard to do. I was going to head out scouting while there was still a little snow left on the ground. I will find out tomorrow. I'm sure I will be fine.

Well FINALLY starting to feel better today. Had to go back to the ER yesterday with a 102.5 fever and I felt terrible. They pumped me full of steroids, antibiotics through an IV and gave me a breathing treatment. I feel a lot better today and hope to go back to work soon. This sure has been a nasty bug. This coughing is getting old.
