Those little rubber strips are supposed to remove the harmonic sound and vibe you get on these bows. From my understanding, the donuts on the strings cause the cams to "buzz" a bit. And of course the incredibly stiff riser doesn't absorb the noise and vibe like 6061 does. I contacted Prime about the little rubber strips and they're putting some in the mail for me to try on my Rize. I also have a bit of an experiment coming in the mail today. Sims (Limbsaver) makes this stuff called Tenticle Wrap. I got a package of it and am going to see if I can cut strips out of it to use in there. I'm thinking the NAVCOM material would be far better than plain old rubber.

Outside of that little bit of Vibe, my Rize is very quiet and spooky accurate.

I emailed Prime and they told me I had to go to a dealer to have then installed so I don't void the warranty. The closest dealer is over an hour away and not a direction I usually go. I'll play with it a bit.

I used to use the tentacle wrap on bow grips a long time ago. I would be worried about it flying off and possibly making more noise. I'm thinking about trying speed buttons

Congrats on the new rig and good luck with the noise issue! Loving that rest also!!! Been strongly considering one myself, but just restrung by bow and set it up with my QAD again, but it's still on my mind!

The dealer I bought the bow from is Lancaster Archery, which for me is about 2 hours one way. The closer dealer, I just don't care for those guys.

I'll be curious to see if I can use that wrap material. The stock stuff Prime uses just slips through the two yoke legs. Probably too early to tell how it would hold up. The speed buttons should work too provided they don't eventually work themselves up into the cams. Not sure how big the hole is in them and with the legs of the yokes being half the diameter of a string, might pose a problem.

I don't have enough experience with it to provide good feedback. Initial thoughts are good. You can set this thing up in about any way possible I think. Very tight and no slop in moving parts.

Last night I took the Limbsaver Tentacle wrap and cut two pieces, about 3/8" by 1" long and stuck them in the yokes, just as they are coming through on the Centergy. This really made no difference that I can tell on getting rid of the tuning fork vibe. Like I said, its not very noticeable, but is something I'd like to work on. I think I'm pretty certain that this resonation is coming from the cams. Its just the nature of the beast, having a two track system such as this. If there was a way to put dampening material on them, it would be eliminated. I proved this by sticking two old limb savers into various cutouts in the cams and giving the riser a wack. No vibe.

I have shot a Centergy with and without the damper that prime uses. It makes a big difference. It is a thicker piece of rubber that wouldn't allow the strings between the cams and the cams themselves to vibrate back and forth as easily as the thin Simms material you are trying. The first Centergy my shop got did not come with the damper installed. They had to get the material from Prime at the ATA show.

Thanks for the heads up. Prime is sending me some of the rubber they're using so I'll be anxious to try it. The Simms stuff is really thin, but figured it was worth a shot.

This probably isn't specific to the Rize, but I thought I'd share something with everyone that I learned tonight. Some notice, and I was one of them, a bit of a tuning fork vibe on these bows. Its not bad, but definitely there. I tried several different things to tame it, but in the end, it was still there. I put Limbsavers on the limbs, added a Sims dampener to the string stop, tried rubber in the yokes, two different stabilizers and in the end just settled for my Bstinger.

So, being a staff guy for 60X, I had already placed an order for a set of threads to go on this bow. They arrived today so I spent the evening putting them on and getting it shot back in. First of all, putting strings and cables on these things is a bit of a bear and getting everything to seat properly when letting down on the press is a priority and must be watched closely until its all fully seated and the bends are established. In the end, its went back together perfectly.

I'd also like to just give a quick shout out to the guys at 60X. I have used several different manufacturers over the years and with this being my 4th set I've installed (2 for me and 2 for friends), I can say with certainty their strings are outstanding. After install and settled the strings a bit, shooting about 20-30 shots then began checking and setting specs. First was timing. Again, 60X strings.. required one twist out on the bottom cam to get timing perfect. Both cams, at rest show 1/2 of the timing hole above limb face. On the draw board the stops hit at same time. Peak weight was 71-72lbs. ATA came in a touch shorter then with the stock strings at 33 1/4. Again, specs came in as close to spot on with 60X strings as you could ask for. I know there are plenty of great string makers out there, but this has been my experience with every single set of 60X's.

So, enough about setting this thing up, etc. What did I find? I much, much tamer, vibe free bow. This bow was definitely tame, aside from that little bit of tuning fork vibe, but after the new strings, putting the bow into the specs I mentioned, it is damn near dead in the hand. I'm not totally sure why. I have my theories. More preload on the limbs (slightly shorter ATA, by 1/8" than it was before) is my best guess. I don't think it has anything to do with timing as it was timed by me before as well. I was concerned that the BCY-X material that 60X uses would be a little harsher than the 452X that came on it. But thats not the case.

Overall, this easily made an outstanding bow even better. I have a few of the little rubber dampeners for the yokes coming from Prime that I plan on putting in, just to see what difference it makes. I may also put a real string stop on there from Bow Rattler or coolhandluke to see what difference that makes.

So, for anyone dealing with the tuning fork vibe, check ATA and if its long, twist it up a bit to see if it makes any difference. Sure did for me.
