It's over

After 13 years as an infantryman in the Army I signed out on terminal leave this morning. It really sunk in how real it was when I got all the random work related items out of my truck because I don't need them anymore. Looking forward to this new chapter in my family's life.

It really is a bittersweet feeling. I did 8 years with the Air Force and on that last day, I was happy to start the new adventure in my life but also heart broken at the thought of leaving something that became such an important part of my life and made me a better man.
