so in the area i hunt, its realy tight nit, and every one knows every one, and there is a part that is not big but is state land, and a guy hunts it, recently a person stole his stand in the middle of the day, and the funny thing is it happened about an hour before i went in the woods to find my deer with my buddy who i hunt with, when i got the news from my property owner, he showed me the pic, and the man who did the crime looks just like, me just shorter, and in bibs, and i dont have thos kind of bibs, but the state police think it was me, and i dont know what i should do. i did see guys today that i have seen before in a red car, and i told them that if they took the stand they had better return it, but i still dont want this all coming down to me. any adivce
Sounds like a sticky situation. Be honest, cooperate fully, document timelines and make sure there isn't any reason for them think otherwise. You are probably better off not pointing fingers instead just concentrate on what you can control which is your actions and how you deal with the authorities.
very true, found out that they had 2 pics one of a persons chest, and one a a mans head, so he was shorter then me, and the 1st pic of the person that wasn't me had a stand, and the 2end pic of a chest was me, i am pretty tall. that pick was taken1 hour later when the owner and i were looking for the deer, now we know who to look for, thank god for time on trail cams, and good quality pics.
