Shed that buck has a real ugly rack. If it were me I would pass on him. Issues 1 Split brows, it makes it real hard to score and looks funny 2 His right side is higher than his left, this would not look good mounted. 3 His left main beam curls more than his right, hideous!! 4 The deer left side is way shorter than his right side. He's lopsided 5 His points are growing together on his left side, he's deformed Most important reason is no one wants to see me in a wrestling outfit!!!
Troy, when will they start chasing hard out there? If I were that buck, I'd find a hole and hide in it from dawn to dark. I'd hate to have you hunting me. LOL
Hahahaha, Hey I gotta lower my standards so I can raise my average! isnt that what we used to do chasing girls!
Dave, I have seen this guy only move during daylight in LATE Nov.. After Thanksgiving. He was one noturnal somebeach last year. My rut runs later than you guys, about 2 weeks so bucks start chasing heavy here about Nov 17-20th.. The biggest bucks year in and out that I see on the hoof are always after Thanksgiving into that first full week of Dec. I really want to try and get him killed before Thanksgiving though because I will be in Iowa over Thanksgiving. I will have late season archery 7 days to hunt him in Dec too ... I feel like if I can get a scrape in the "right" location I have a chance early. I have rain in the forcast today and tomorrow, this should allow me to slip into the areas I have in mind build these scrapes and get out with the right thermals .. I need downslope thermals because he hides up in a big nastly bowl of big timber and blowdowns up on a mountain side. The daily thermals blowing up hill will blow this scent to him mid day.. I am gonna put a camera on every scrape and not hunt or check them until I get back next week. Heading to L.A> this fri-sun for the UFC ! I want these traps out and working for 3-4 days first.
hahaha better U than me...! chit I know I gotta get another one down.. you gonna chew up my 4x4 and spit him out with that big 10!
Good luck Troy, you certainly have the plan for him, just whether he decides to move during daylight Have fun in LA!
