I am going to set up all 5 trail cams I have pulled now, and set 5 new scrapes with them....on every travel route I feel that this buck could be using, he is really playing mr.nocturnal. One thing about him the trail cams dont bother him with his continual repeated visits in the dark..I believe he got use to them when he was young and now tolerates them... This is a BIG area he uses.. so its not like I am crawling in bed with him, I just really need to narrow down the parts of this mountain he feels most comfortable using..

A flipping daylight pix would be nice.. never had one of him in over 200 pix of him.. like I said in three years of pixing him.. I have seen him ONLY 3 times during daylight.... once in the summer of his 3.5 year, got video of him, then twice as a 4.5 year old.. nothing yet this year during daylight..grrrr

So you're saying this guy is a 5.5 year old? I'm not very great at aging but I would have thought 3.5 or 4.5. I need more practice. :D

Good luck again, Troy. He sure is a dandy. Hopefully his nose will lead him right to you!

I could see why you would loose sleep over a buck like that. Hoss is a stud, hope you get a daylight glimpse of him yet this season.

A buck like that would cause a guy to loose some sleep. Best of luck with him Troy, go get him!!

Yeah here he is as a 4 year old last year. Then this year, he still has that 5x5 main frame he just added JUNK (distinct double browtines, little dropper and extra NT tine on his left side and MASS this year into that 5x5 main frame.. making him a 7x7 ..these pix are at the exact same waterhole/mineral lick .. only at night of course! Hes got small feet and not the biggest body, then again mountain bucks dont look like corn fed bucks either, they can get big but not overly fat.

Good luck Jeff, you gotta be excited about getting to hunt that caliber of a deer, I dont think I have ever laid eyes on a net typical or net nontypical booner in my state. That takes an exceptional buck to net Boone either way!

Yeah forsure, that buck I just shot is no where near the caliber of buck this guy is as far as score goes and your right I haven't shot a buck with that low of a score in a long time but I wanted him for a couple reasons other than his headgear! I'd have never shot that buck without 2 tags, not this early. But hey, thanks Toby, I want this guy so bad I can taste it. I am gonna introduce operation "scrape attack" after school today. :) I think i slept 4 hours last night max!

Oh trust me Jeff I believe you 100% It just takes a freaking big deer to net Boone. Wouldnt that be something if you even got to lay eyes on one down there let alone arrow one with that trad bow of yours!
