What made you pick the Phase 4 29 over the 33?
with the obvious difference of ATA the 33 has an extra half inch of brace height, in theory should be a more forgiving bow

I'm a glutton so I actually own both. I wanted a 29 specifically because I like the smaller bow for run-and-gun hunting from the saddle. It's easier to pack in, maneuver around, get over or under my bridge, etc. And I tend to shoot the shorter bows as well, if not better, than the longer ones.

To me, the idea that 1/2" of brace height makes a bow more forgiving the hands of 99.9% of bowhunters tying to kill a deer at 30 yards, is laughable. It sounds like a great point on paper (or a screen), but in the real world it makes no difference.

if you ever feel that 33 isn't shot enough I know someone that shoots pretty much the same specs, DL and poundage as you...

Can you take a close up pic of your old release and post it? Don't need to see the strap, just the jaws and trigger area, side profile of jaws.

I didn’t think you would need to see the strap.

If memory serves, she was a navy chief too, so I wouldn't doubt it.

The problem is you're shooting a TruFire. They are basically one step up from an Allen release from Wal-Mart. Time to upgrade. :D

Ouch. I may never recover from that one.

Don’t you have some Super Admin duties to take care of?

I increased the tension a bit. I’ve gone back and forth with the extension of the body of the release itself. Currently, I’m back to a shorter setting to get a full trigger finger wrap around the trigger. Helps me avoid the punch. Very sensitive trigger!

I’m a big fan of the wise guy, helped my shooting. Was worried about the BOA and repeatability, I was just over thinking it like everything else I do Haha. I have great consistency on shots. Looking forward to the start, definitely starting to feel like it’s around the corner.

LC, That first pick looks like there is a bit of a jagged spot on the right side?

Or perhaps you have stiff whiskers/mustache? Lol.

I had already shot better a couple of days earlier with my Heli-m using the Wiseguy and I wanted to see if it helped my shooting with my V3 so I gave it a try yesterday.

I did shoot better. I still need to practice quite a bit so that it doesn’t feel alien to me, but I’m much more accurate with it.

Yep all about reps, took me a little to get a rhythm and to get used to the feel and what to do with my other fingers. Glad it’s working good for you as well.

What stands/saddles is everyone using? I'm using a Tethrd Phantom for 99% of my sits, but I'll also be in an XOP hang-on for a few sits on a lease. Use to have a ladder stand, but that piece got sold, so I left it.

I've also been using the Tethrd Phantom the past few seasons. I use that in conjunction with a Predator XL platform and ONE sticks. Yes, I'm a Tethrd flunky. Hoping to switch to the Lockdown and a standard Predator platform for this fall. I want something that packs a little easier and the XL is just a little too wide at times.

I still have a lot of fixed stands in trees and those are mostly all Lone Wolf Alphas combined with full-length Lone Wolf sticks. Although as I get older I am putting up a few ladder stands, I've really grown to love them. I have a combination of Muddy, Big Game, and Hawk ladders. All of them are pretty good, to be honest.

When it comes to mobile hunting, I'm not sure I'll ever pack a treestand ever again. The saddle is better in almost every conceivable way.
