It's starting to really get rocking here in Illinois.

Tuesday afternoon I rattled in a nice 10 point to 35 yards, but had no shot.

I took my Lone Wolf stand and sticks in tonight, found some fresh scrapes and a heavily used trail, and set up on it. I rattled around 6:15 and the same buck from Tuesday came running in. He made a scrape, and ignored my grunts to lure him in closer. I hit him with a snort wheeze and got him to 50 yards, but just didn't like the shot. The buck walked away, and I looked out to a cut corn field and a 3 pointer was standing 30 yards away, running around and freshening scrapes. Then a 140 class 10 pointer came running in and chased the smaller buck off.

As darkness came, I had deer all around me. I stayed in my tree about an hour before finally being able to get down. Left the stand up, and might go back to it tomorrow afternoon.

I agree, didn't get the 2 bucks I wanted to look at on video . Nothing went right in that regard, glare, zoom and bow mount. UGH! But the bucks were with the does this morning, didn't see chasing but they were definitely interested.

I was hoping to get back out tomorrow, but between the time I left this morning and the time I got home this evening the weather changed. Went from winds of 5-10 to 15-25 with gusts to near 30, that won't work for where I am wanting to hunt. I may get up early and see what it's like.
