We just spent 8 years being jerked to the left. We can handle Trump pulling us back to the right. IMO

Any person could think that in the age of global Islamic terrorism is completely beyond hope. And Gary Johnson is a proponent.

Yes, border control is supposed to be the responsibility of the federal government. But when said government is derelict in that duty, the states can and should fill in what gaps it can.

That had to be the worst opening night of a convention I have ever seen, LOL Perhaps next week can top it.

It was kinda expected by myself at least. The anti-Trump folks wanted their voice heard...and now will calm down some...unless they desire to give Hillary the election. I will admit, some of the folks that are backing Trump have made me keep trying to convince myself to vote for him....just not sure I can yet. (not voting for Hillary though for sure)

    Worst opening night?
There were a couple of prominent duds, most notably Gen. Flynn (not ready for PrimeTime and thank God not the VP nominee) and Susan Smith, who I'm very sympathetic to but equally tired of FoxNews' painful obsession with putting her on TV. She's still an emotional wreck no matter how correct she is.

However, how anyone who really watched Marcus Luttrell (gut check), Rudy Giuliani, (rah-rah!) and Sherriff Clark (damn right!) last night and thought the night was bad was not watching the same TV programming I was. Add in all the family members speaking of the horrific avoidable crimes committed by illegal aliens against their love ones and all in all the night was much more important than any previous party convention I've ever seen. I couldn't tell you one thing from any of the past 3 presidential election conventions of either party but I will never forget Marcus Luttrell choking up, ditching the TelePrompTer, and asking all of us to take responsibility for the direction of this country :

“To the next generation, your war is here, you don’t have to find it. Who among you will love something more than you love yourself? I challenge all of you to fight for this country and each and every one of us.”

Watch his speech, if you haven't already.

Didnt watch any of the opening night due to having a life but am listening to reports of it as I stream in the background today. I sure wish the republican could have got an actual republican to be the nominee instead of a dem pretending to be a Republican.

I wish Hillary were in prison and I hope she loses in November but the thought of a Trump presidency is not good news. Either way I think America loses.

That's funny; most are tired of Republicans pretending to be Conservatives. Hence the birth of your first real 3rd Party nominee- DJT. He knew he couldn't do it outside the 2 party system, so he just hijacked the weakest party.

And yes, he's a Conservative. More so than many pretenders like Paul Ryan, et al. Maybe he's a late comer on some issues, but he's for smaller government, lower taxes, (mostly) pro-life, pro 2A, anti-illegal alien, pro military. Pretty much checks every "Conservative" box.

DJT is the first true mix of a Democrat and a Republican running from either party, that is for sure. I guess if the country wanted to meet in the middle he is perfect....

The best thing for the country might be a president that neither party wants. Might force Congress to actually work together for a change.

The power needs to be returned to the states. The President has too much power these days and it was never intended to be that way by our founding fathers.

That is a big part of Trump's appeal the fact that he is an outsider, the fact that the establishment detests him, the media who desperately tried to downplay his early success dislikes him, as well as the left coast hollywood establishment. If you have a candidate like that I would normally be intrigued, something about Trump reminds me so much of Jesse Ventura.

For those who suggest that my vote would be a wasted vote or a vote for Hilliary let me do a quick Civics lesson. The electoral college actually casts the votes for president not me as an individual. There is the popular vote and the electoral vote. It is possible for a person to win the popular vote but not the presidential vote. I live in Minnesota guess what Minnesota's electoral votes are going to Hilliary it won't even be close. Mondale vs Regan, 1 state in the entire country went for Mondale....Minnesota. My vote for a 3rd party candidate is not helping Hillary win in any way shape or form.

Bush/Kerry MN was less than 100K votes from going to Bush. Just need the GOP voter turnout to increase.
