My guy left his state New Mexico with tax cuts and a balanced budget.

It doesn't matter who is the other candidate when one is Hillary. She is the most incompetent POS we have ever seen on a ballot, not voting is the same as voting for her which makes no sense to me.

Who's job is it to control the border? I believe a that is a federal responsibility.

I know a lot people have trouble with the idea of an open border, but I believe, and so do most Libertarians, that if you cut entitlements, open border is fine.

Basically you cannot have both. Open border with our current entitlements would be a disaster. Get rid of the entitlements, then an open border would work. This is the Libertarian belief.

Entitlement reform would be huge, and enforcement of the laws we have. Don't let employers have illegal workers. And deport more efficiently.

Agree we don't need a wall if we enforce our laws.

Why settle? Write in the best. Pokémon has the same chance of winning as Johnson.

Do I think Trump is a great candidate? Not no, but hell no. I am a realist and understand what the alternatives are and living in a fantasy land will not get you or me anywhere.

I agree, the system is flawed. People have been hoping a third party would become a viable solution for decades and we still see where we are. Maybe make the debates?

The truth is, whether you like it or not, people like yourself who are voting for a third party instead of voting for Trump are a liberal’s dream and you are playing right into their hand.

We will never get a viable 3rd party because of the very attitude that you have shown. You can't say "I would love to have a 3rd party candidate" and then berate anyone that actually chooses to support a 3rd party candidate in the same breath.

How crappy of a candidate does the GOP have to trot out for you to not vote for them? As long as the DNC candidate is perceived to you as crappier (which is more than likely always), you don't care?

This is all so incredibly sad and frustrating to me.

Your beliefs is why we have these 2 awful candidates. You are the problem.

Unfortunately there are other motives for entering the country illegally than just entitlements. Drug cartels occasionally take over small border towns to give them a path into the country, executed murders of US citizens, and are payed to smuggling in terrorists. We need to improve our relations with Mexico and do a better job of sharing information. We need to start documenting illegal aliens and categorizing them as either undocumented non-threatening or undocumented criminal. We need to start deporting the undocumented criminals and help the undocumented non-threatening towards a path to citizenship. If we can improve our policies and reform our immigration process in addition to getting rid of the entitlements, then I think it would work. Most illegals come here in tunnels anyway, so a wall itself will hardly prevent much.

I don't really see the positives in rewarding people who illegally enter our country with a path to citizenship. We are a county of laws, those laws apply to everyone within out border. Those illegals have no right to citizenship in this country. Now, with that said, I have absolutely no problem with granting citizenship to anyone who lawfully enters our country with the intent to denounce their country of origin and fully pledge their allegiance to the United Stated. We could do a better job of making that easier, but there needs to be some basic and fundamental rules associated with how they enter the country, and what criteria they must meet to be granted citizenship.

Wholesale granting of citizenship to illegal aliens will not benefit our country in any way.

Polls indicate that Johnson will be pulling as many or more votes from Clinton as he will be from Trump in a number of states. I think Germ (like myself) would sooner not vote at all before casting a vote for that a$$ clown Trump. A vote for Johnson does not net another vote to Clinton or Trump. Trump will win my state (ND) by a large margin regardless of my vote. I'm tired of having two worthless options for president. A third party needs to begin gaining more support and I aim to give it to them.

Well that is the thing...they wouldn't be illegal with an open border.

And as far drug cartels, most libertarians are for the decriminalization of all drugs, which would greatly reduce the power of the cartels.

I agree that they should be deported regardless which they classify as (threatening or non-threatening) but I am talking about a solution that actually has a chance of passing Congress. I would be all for deporting anyone here illegally but I don't think that will ever happen unfortunately so we need to be able to classify them either way so that if we deport and allow them to come here legally in the future, we have a documented history of who they are. I could care less about the drug part, if you read my post I'm talking about how they take over border towns and kill Americans and are paid to smuggle terrorists into the country. The drug cartel is in the making money business, not the drug business.
