With the holidays (Thanksgiving, Hanukah, and Christmas) coming up let's show active duty military persons overseas that we're thinking of them. Here is a site where you can make a donation in $25 increments for a $75 USO Care package to be sent to a service person overseas for each $25: https://www.uso.org/OUCP-donation-page-with-partner.aspx?]LangType=1033 I just made my donation.
I'm in. Great post Mark. Least I can do. Placed my donation in memory of my Veteran Grandfather who passed a few years back. Seems like just yesterday that I carried his coffin and laid to rest the sweetest toughest most onry old man ya ever met. Miss ya PopPop Marvin E. Hett US Navy 1950 - late 1970's USS Ranger plus others RIP
My donations were in honor of all Americans. Put my email address to get it to take. The email said "Dear All Americans, Mark …… made a donation to the USO to sponsor ____ care packages…….
Pretty cool stuff, haveta get on there and do that. One of my buddies I was in Corps with just ran the Marine Corps marathon so donated to him but honestly you can't donate enough to stuff like this.
A lot of holiday stuff just irks me. The shopping, traffic, crazy, greedy azz folks that are out and about. But givng to things like this always helps me to keep my perspective and really puts me in the mood of what the season is truly meant to be about.
Our nation is defended by young men and women who take the oath and sign the papers usually between the age of 17 and 23. These young adults are willing to put their life on the line to protect ours. That is an awful mature thing for someone so young to do. I know what it was like for me at that age, and know what one care package from back home can mean. Please don't procrastinate on this and support just one service person please.
