Since I got out with my camera after some wildlife. Been busy with work and when not working - been hunting the hawk. So my camera has been a dust collector for the past couple months. ( Except for hawk hunting pics). We haven't really had much of a winter here, usually the river is frozen over by now except for a few spots - and that's where the eagles usually are. This year she's free of ice so the eagles aren't as easy a target to photograph. Haven't had squatt for snow either. Thought I'd post up a few pics from previous outings at least until I can get a chance to get some new ones. Take care Dave
Thanks a lot guys. These were all taken with a Nikon D300 camera - most with a 200-400 F/4 VR lens but some were when I first started out and I was using a 70-200 F/2.8 VR lens. Matt - all these shots were probably within 10 miles on my house. I spend a lot of time on the river in a blind in the spring. But a lot of the shots are right out my truck window too. If you'd like to see more you can view my galleries at www.pbase.com/yellowdogdave I have 17 galleries and almost 1700 pics there from the past 3 years. It's pretty easy to set up Matt if your interested I could help ya. - and it's an easy way to share your pics with freinds too.
Wow...I always love your picture threads. I'm looking to buy my very first DSLR this year since we'll be vacationing in Alaska. I've been working my way up to one for the past couple years and the time is right. Just when I think I take a few decent pics...I see yours and it puts me back in my place.
Thanks, Dave. I actually have some web design/development experience, I've just never gotten around to creating a site for my photos. I may try pbase for the time being while I get my portfolio site up and running. I wish I could locate subjects like you do. Wow!
