That buck is just absolutely ridiculous. Big time congrats to Luke. While I was pulling for you Caleb, I'm just as happy that one of your bros got him and not someone that couldn't share it with us. Not that another guy wouldn't be deserving, but you have put so much time and history into this deer it is poetic justice that he will be hanging on your family's wall and he will be part of your family hunting stories for years to come.

The story behind this buck is as classic as they come.

Luke and Isaac were the only ones who wanted to go out for the last evening of the season. We had been out all week with minimal deer movement because of the heavy pressure. Luke decided to go to one of my ladder stands, and Isaac headed to another one that wasn't far away. Luke was walking into the stand down a farm lane when he noticed movement behind him. This is the unbelievable part, Freak Daddy had let Luke walk by him, and stood up after he passed by. At one point they had to be within 5 FEET of each other, but the sides on the lane were so thick that Luke didn't realize he was there. They were now standing face to face at 10 FEET. Luke quickly pulled up and fired 3 rounds, and Daddy took off at a dead run across our alfalfa field. Luke quickly called me, then Isaac. Isaac met up with him to search for blood and they couldn't find any. They then started walking the edge of the field and Isaac walked up on him a few minutes later right on the edge of the field. Ill never forget the phone call he gave me as i was driving up the lane"

    "Luke just shot Freak Daddy"

    "No"

"I swear to God im holding his g-2's right now!"

3 years of pursuit came to rest that evening in the field...i still can't believe its over

I can't begin to know how this feels for this young man. But I'm happy as heck for him and all who shared in it with him.

Congrats to the hunter and the "crew".

    Sincerely,

    J

I have said this for many years about mature bucks letting hunters walk by. I am not shocked at all

Me and Jay had a good conversation about it yesterday, it happens fairly often from what im being told. Especially with the 4.5+ deer.

Were gonna have the Taxi age him when he does the mount...i wouldnt be surprised if he told me 4.5, though alot of the people who have looked at him are saying 6 or 7...

Happens a ton. When I used to gun hunt the WI season and do drives with the guys, I would still hunt behind the drivers.....and get most of the shooting.

Does anyone else have the feeling that they're going to get a picture of Luke and his buck in an email. It's going to say something like......

A 14 year old stalked up on this buck in _____(insert state of choice) wearing nothing but a loin cloth and carrying a tomahawk as his only weapon.

    Or something to that effect

    I give it two weeks

Congrats again to the Siman family and Luke

Brother Siman, I am very proud of you. For all my trail camera pictures of him, all the time we've pursued him, all the waiting for the one time he would go by is put to an end. Freak daddy is dead, and hunting almost doesn't feel the same. I had a bow encounter with this deer 3 weeks ago during the rut, Jay saw him too that hunt. I thought he would never be seen again. I got that picture sent to my phone and rushed to the deer. In amazement to see it was laying there, dead as a doornail. Great job Luke!

With ALL due respect, I'd never do that (at least I don't think).

Can't put a price on privacy and having your property to yourself.

We had a 201" killed next door to us, and I'm already a little apprehensive as to what next season will be like.

Enjoy it, tell your buddies, and look at the mount for hours on end. But I wouldn't spread it all over God's great earth.

    Just me, I guess.

That said, it'd be pretty cool to see you guys get all the credit you can muster!

HUGE congrats to all of you. I cannot tell you how cool it is to follow this deer from HNI to here and now he is on the ground. Freeman/OH wrote the woods do not feel the same, I have been there...you will get some new pics and start a new pursuit.

I still can't believe it. That last picture is awesome. What a stud of a buck, did I not seriously call it that you or your brother would put him down this year? :D I just didn't specify which brother.

Congrats to him and all of you. You guys put the work in trying to get on that deer and this is a perfect example of work paying off.
