well i was working for the odwc this wkend pulling deer jaws at a check station to age the deer. its opening wkend of rifle season here (first opening wkend iv missed in 14 years ) but man have i seen some monster bucks. 1 3 beamed 15 point, a 10 that i scored at 169 4/8. several sweet non typs, 2 droptine bucks and probably a easy dozen rob bucks. man it killed me to not be hunting, but i was simply in awe of some of these deer
okcaveman, can you clear up something with me since you worked a check station. In the Ok laws sex organs must be attached until carcass tag is attached. Do I gut it and then just leave the organs attached? I don't know why just an attached head would not work?
babyburb im really not sure. i would assume that they want the organs attached to verify sex, as some does have been known to grow horns. when i do field dress a deer tho yes i gut it and just leave the organs attached.
yea it was great fun for a little while... until i started thinking hey i could be hunting as well. hey i mite even have killed something like this if i was hunting today. then i wsa doing this the rest of wkend
