Glad to hear it was quick and cheap to fix. Only the fellow at Lancaster and myself have ever drawn my bow. It'll stay that way. There's NOBODY that I wait 2 hours for.
Any chance they were already damaged and the torque just finished them? This could have been a whole lot worse.
Thats crazy, Iv been to dozens of quality bow shops and have never seen a single one let you draw the bows with your fingers. Nearly every one I have been to has draw tools you MUST use. They are basically a release that doesnt release.
Still sounds better than the best day at work. I think I would have let a few profanities and colorful language fly if a "friend" did that to my bow. I hope he was the one who "donated" his bow so you could still hunt that day. I let other people shoot my bow often, but never draw it without the intent to fire...thus arrow, release, etc. I would never presume to touch another man's bow without permission, and wouldn't think of fingerpulling it.
I had never heard of a bow derailing due to drawing it back without a release. I learnt somethin new....another good reason to keep my old bow.
That's unfortunate to hear. It's actually pretty common though with shorter ATA bows that have larger cams. No worries, the shop will have you fixed up in no time though, it's not a terribly complicated fix, the longest part will be waiting for parts.
