Hot or cold, I don't care. I will be there. NCRemington700, why not the heat and when does SC season start? Ours is on 9/11 this year.

I've hunted in the heat my whole life, that doesn't mean I have to like it. Haha Deer movement always seems to be better the colder it is.

Some parts open Aug 15th, some Sept 1st, and some Sept 15th...for archery. The zones that are Aug 15th, thats all weapons. Its no wonder we don't see any deer the last month and a half of the season since they've been shot at with guns for 3 months.

I've always put the hunting seasons on my outlook calendar at work. My co-workers and supervisors would always give me a hard time because I'd refuse to make them private events and they'd have to ignore warnings about scheduling meetings over them.

I just wanted them to remember that at any given point during the season I might have to take a "sick" day :)

Its not the cold that bothers me....its the snow. Although cold to me is single digits, not sure how I'd handle subzero temps and honestly I don't want to find out.

    Oh yeah and....

I see. To me it feels the same to me whether it's 5 deg or -20 deg. When you get down to those temps it's just simply COLD.

With all that awsome fishing right out your back door? I'd be hunting some B&C walleyes. :) I'll be up in your neck out the woods this fall bear and deer hunting. Maybe this year I'll swing by to see your big buck mount!

I tried fishing for a few years in the summer, then realized I only really enjoyed the part where I got to eat fish. I'm not saying I won't ever go fishing, I just won't let it interfere with time I could spend at the range or time in the woods scouting.

Takes a back seat during bowseason, but the dates on either side, look out.

Oct. 1 here in Iowa. I do a lot of fishing in the summer months, seems to make the time go by faster. Before you know it it's time to hunt and I'm still not ready.
