I make cornhole boards on the side and a few weeks ago, my DeWalt drill begun shocking me when I pulled the trigger. I thought there was a short so I called DeWalt about replacing it but it was out of warranty and I couldn't afford to be out of work for a week so I went to Home Depot and got a new one. They were running a special - DeWalt cordless compact drill, two 20v batteries and a charger for $100, regularly $160 so I picked it up and all was good. Until about a week after - I'd charge the batteries fully but they'd only last about 5 screws. I went and returned it tonight and figured I just got a dud and was willing to get the same one again. However, since it was a special and they didn't have any more, she wanted to send me to another Home Depot. On my toes, I said don't worry about it, I got my money back, no problem, I'll go to Lowes. She said, "Well, wait, what about that Milwaukee? I'll give it to you for the same price." I looked it over - it was more than I had and a $100 higher price tag so needless to say, it came home with me - a $200 drill for $100
Nice! That's interesting about the DeWalt. Those things are solid. Must have found a bad apple in the bunch.
That's what I was thinking, I definitely don't have any hard feelings against them. Almost all of my tools are DeWalt but I wasn't going to argue with her over the Milwuakee
My friend once got a Bowtech Carbon Overdrive for $550 because the lady at the shop thought its a Carbon Knight.
