Only a few days of season left and you find a hot spot....I found this line of arm sized rubs yesterday..there are at least 20 in a 1/4 ac area.:jaw:. I know where to start looking next year....

It seems I always find a honey hole after the seasons over as well that I didn't pick up on during the open seasons. I would get some cams out in those areas to see what's hanging around that area before the antlers start to drop. Or it might be a darn good place to go shed hunting once they start losing their antlers.

put a cam out yesterday before we left... it's in a funnel I can't believe I didn't check this area out during season...The heavy brown line is where the most rubs were.. The distance from the open area where the house is and the field is about 200 yds. The blue dot is where I put the cam.. I am thinking he is staging in the pines and feeding and chasing in the hardwoods at night..

I shot a nice buck on November 5th, on December 5th and a few days after I got pics of a buck that would make me pass the buck I shot in a heartbeat.

This is how I always find my spots for next season. I'm not sure why I find them late.

I thinks it's mainly because I don't do a ton of in season scouting, by late season I start to wander a little more..There is also a whole nother 50ac on the other side of the big creek I have not even investigated this year..

I done little scouting after muzzle loader season on a area I used to hunt. But after ice storm and tornado made the area hard to walk to that area never the less dragging a deer out of there. I believe thats going to be my honey hole for next year. I have to make a walking trail but I believe it will be worth it.
