I've never forgot my quiver though I do stress about that but this year I did drive the 60 miles to hunting grounds and relize that I didn't have my upper layers or my hat I felt pretty naked in black lmao.
You guys (and girls) forget everything! :D The worst one was when I decided to pack in a lock on about 3/4 of a mile to hang and hunt a piece of public land. Found the tree I wanted and went lookin' for my tree steps... they were at home in the tree step bag... Talk about an unhappy camper!
I can't tell you all how much I appreciate hearing all of this. I always wondered whether it was just me. Glad to know it's not.
I forgot my release ONCE. Since then I have made it a point to double and triple check that I have it. Someone on this site even forgot his pants. Cough, rybo, cough...
Just this season I made the twenty minute walk to my stand and realized I forgot the seat to my Ameristep Skyscraper! Now this was the SEAT, not the cushion for a seat!!! I was too p*ss*d at myself and did not want to waste another 40 minutes walking to the camper and back so I thought I would make the best of it and STAND on the platform for as long as I could stand it and then quit for the morning. Well, once on the platform my McGyver instincts kicked in as I was pulling up my bow and pack. MY PULL ROPE!!! I took the rope and wrapped it back and forth around the side rails of the stand, about six wraps, and now had a place to sit. Almost like a mesh seat. In fact, it was so comfortable, and easier than packing the seat itself, that the next day I left the seat at home and wrapped another seat! Just a tip for those that may forget their seat someday!!!
