With the mobile style of hunting becoming more popular, there is one thing that still bothers me...I have moved a stand three times so far this season, and TWICE I left my bow hook up in the tree  :D

It seems like I always get my stand and sticks taken down, only to look up and realize I forgot that little guy. Before every season I always have to make a trip to the sporting goods store to buy a family pack of these things, and I keep one with me, just in case. I can't stand holding my bow.

I can think of atleast five trees in my woods right now that are sporting random hooks about 18 feet up. I hope someone sees one, one day, and just thinks...WTF?

    Rant over :)

I always try to take my realtree hanger in and out with me, cuts down on leaving it in the tree by mistake - but I've done that too! Heck, I even left mine in a tree at my buddy's place - I looked everywhere and thought I lost it and he finally called me and told me he had it.

I left 2 of those realtree hangers in tree's last year. Sucks is that I lost access to the properties so I can't go back and get them even if I wanted to.

Heh, I'm on #2 this year. I have one in a tree from last year (in a killer spot too) that I plan to hunt next weekend. I bet I've got a good 6-8 of them in various trees that I've left out. :D

Funny, i mentioned this in another thread yesterday Will.

i ALWAYS leave them in trees and i actually went and bought 6 yesterday. I use 2 in each setup, one for my pack and one for my bow.

    Well, actually......you are.:p

I haven't left many because to be honest...I HATE bowhooks. The bow arms that hold it out from the tree are one thing, but the little 3" hook that hangs your bow against the tree behind or beside you...I don't see how you guys do it, and get a shot off without being pegged. Can you see the deer from a long way off? Hell by the time I see a deer usually it is pretty much already in range. I'm too nervous to start using those so I either use realtree easy hangers or hold the thing.

I use a realtree EZ hanger and yes I have left it up also. Not as cheap as the bow hooks so had to go back up. :(
