The extra time home with the grandkids and family was excellent and added so much to the trip.
I hope you and your dad make it happen!

Question on the moose habitat did the guides see any moose wallows up there? Here in Minnesota if you find a wallow you have a good chance of finding a bull wondering if that theory hold up in other places.

I didnt hear any reference to community type wallows. Just thinking out loud. Water is everywhere up there. You go down low there is water, walk to the top of a mountain and you find water to. Basically if there is a flat spot there is water or tuckamore. It would probably have to have a pretty distinct or appealing puddle in that kind of country for multiple moose to make a wallow. That said I am sure it's possible.

Do those guys do caribou hunts as well? That's my need-to-do hunt

Epic hunt. That's what dreams are made of and the fact you and your Dad did it together fantastic.

    My favorite photo though.

Great Christmas Card for your hunter friends.

Thank you! Yes he does very limited woodland caribou hunts at this time. I think he has 6 tags currently. The woodland caribou situation is on one the fence in Newfoundland at this time.
If your looking for a woody then it's your only option however if you just want a Caribou then I think you have better choices in other locations.

Great story told. That had to be a full day processing all the meat. Lots of freezer paper!!! I've heard moose is really good. Should be able to enjoy for awhile. Best thing I liked was how you both were more excited about each others bull than your own.

Planning on doing an Elk trip with my Dad for his first time hunting out west next year. Hope it goes as well as this.

Yea it took awhile to get it all cut and wrapped. It helped that I boned it all out off the hooks in the meat house at camp though. I needed the cooler space on the way home. Yes it's excellent to eat...just a very small notch below elk.
Hope you and your dad have great time elk hunting! Elk are my absolute favorite animal to hunt!

Thanks !! We are going to try! I really like the dates on this hunt as I can draw an elk tag for sept hunt two weeks and still make this trip. We rebooked for 2019 as that was the first date he had open! My father is driving me up a wall already!
