(mas o menos) So today I picked up my new Bowtech Realm (performance setting.) 70#, 30", yadda yadda. I set up some 30.5 CX Piledriver 450s with a TAW of 605gr. Not a typo. It is currently chronoing at 255fps. After 2 hours of paper/yoke/bare shaft tuning;I am literally shooting bullet holes at 30 yards with fletching; and exactly what you would want with bare shafts. So my question is- as long as I stay within proper spine range; am I going to be "tuned" regardless of arrow choice? I have some other arrows set up at about 465gr*. Correct spine. I didn't get a chance to shoot those as I used epoxy to set the inserts and need another day. I won't be able to check those on paper for at least a week. Just wondering what everyone thinks. * I know it won't hit to same POA; I am just asking if it will still be tuned.
Good question! I’m tagging along to find the answer myself, because I m thinking about changing arrows - same brand, same spine, different diameter. I’m guessing that the answer is “not necessarily”, but inquiring minds want to know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good question- following, My guess is yes it will still be tuned. John dudley always says you "set up" a bow and "tune" arrows, i.e, making sure the spine is correct ect. Since you said the spine is correct Im sure you accounted for things that affect spine like FOC, different vane config, different nocks ect
I would think that as long as the outer diameter of the arrow is the same you should be good Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
No. If spine was static it would be the same. However arrow spine is dynamic when shot from bow. So in all likelihood those arrows will react differently. If you can see or perceive the difference is another matter all together. However its incumbent upon you to test or measure the effects.
well, yes and no. The spines are well within spec range for DL, DW, FPS, and FOC. But I am bare shaft tuning so the weight/drag on the back end is not really a factor. not the same OD...at all. thanks for that. I was just wondering if I should expect a big difference. I will of course test it out.
