I wish the I40s took better pics at night, but is this what I think it is? I don't think its broken off. The earliest I've ever had pics of a buck that had shed is December 8th. What say you?
I saw one up in the Adirondacks today that I swear was a buck but had no horns. Had a thick neck, chest was deeper than the rear end, track was significantly longer than a .270 shell, etc. It only got to about 50 yards or so though, so I wasn't able to really get a good enough look to confirm if he had dropped. Also saw a really nice 130ish buck today that still had horns that I would have loved to have shot, but I only had a bear tag.......
we had early sheds here two seasons ago. two bucks that I know of taken during muzzle loader season that year, one had lost it's horns, another lost it's horns on the drag to the truck. I guess it's possible.
Deer have antlers, not horns. And yes, it sure likes like he shed to me, although it's hard to say for sure with the killer quality of the I40 IR pictures.
could just be broken, a friend got a buck in last weeks gun season, that actually looked just like this one, he didnt know there was only one antler until it was already laying. His was broken not shed.
man i hope they're not dropping yet. it's too early. my luck, I'll shoot a buck, & then the antlers will fall off when it hits the ground.
