Is this what I think it is?

Thanks for all the input. Our state biologists confirmed that it is a black bear. Guess there were other folks who saw the bear and confirmed it.
Pretty interesting considering how heavily populated (with summer people) the area is.

 

Do not discount this possibility:

Is it really easier to post a picture of a picture than just posting the picture?

Even though the mystery was solved I agreed it looked like a bear to me.

 

I was guessing black lab as well. Looks like it has a long tail!
